U.S. Department of Energy’s
National Renewable Energy Lab

The Research Support Facility (RSF) project at NREL is a design-build, turnkey, fixed-price project with Haselden Construction as the design-builder, RNL as the architect, interior and landscape designer, and Stantec as the MEP consultant. The RSF is a 222,000 square foot Federal office building that is designed to be one of the largest net-zero energy buildings of its kind. This elegant solution expresses a scientific and environmental aesthetic. The building has become a living educational tool, immediately accessable to the lay person, while remaining firmly rooted in a rigorously documented, collaboration of planning, architecture, systems engineering and construction.
