The library is focused to become a link between the adjacent historic neighborhoods and the rich aviation history of the former Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado. Located on a prominent street corner, the library is adjacent to multi-family residences and near the town center. Natural light streams in at various locations. The library incorporated new concepts in retail library design and collection composition including a coffee shop was included in the design. Inside the library, technology is generously mixed with traditional library offerings. The library averages 2,000 patrons per day and is currently circulating 67% of the Denver Central Library each month.
