Casa de Amma, a residential facility providing living accommodations for adults with learning disabilities, is a comfortable, healthy, and interactive environment for residents which foster independence through private living quarters. The facility includes private units for single or double occupancy, a family room, sauna and exercise facility, game room, theatre, library, dining room, and a protected outdoor multi level courtyard. These community spaces are integral to the atmosphere created at this facility. Administrative offices are located at the entrance to assist in the oversight of the facility.
Situated in historical San Juan Capistrano, the architecture and interiors reflect a regional Spanish influence. The interior is residential in design and relies on oversized furniture utilizing a variety of Spanish and continental styles. Owner-supplied antiques create a feeling and ambiance of authenticity. Detailing includes vintage maps, iron lighting, stenciled ceilings, Majorca and terra cotta tiles, and horizontal paneled doors reminiscent of a 1930s California residence. The color palette is based in the warmth of the terra cotta while complimented and balanced by vibrant blues, golds, and reds. The interior materials and textiles were selected for their durability and comfort.
