The Salvation Army has been serving the needs of the Five Points neighborhood in Denver for over 45 years. They selected RNL to design a new community center, and renovate their existing building. We also performed a long-range master plan for their site. Working interactively with The Salvation Army’s leadership team, developed a program and 3-phase master plan to allow them to better serve the needs of the surrounding community.

An extensive renovation of the existing center, including the addition of a new glass lobby will connect to a new community center with a full sized gymnasium for athletics, a dance studio, as well as educational classrooms and administrative offices for the Salvation Army. Also included in the master plan are 20 units of senior housing and an adult training center activated by outdoor gardens, a pool, playground and skating rink.

The project will develop over the years as a campus of buildings offering all parts of the community a place to gather and have the opportunities to develop physically, mentally, and spiritually.
