RNL worked with Sundt Construction in a CMAR partnership for the new School of Communication at Northern Arizona University (NAU). This signature building reflects communication at all levels and is a vehicle for NAU to attract and retain students.

The structure is positioned at the confluence of the north-south orientation of the newer south campus and the ‘old Flagstaff’ alignment of the historic north campus. The architecture is a contemporary interpretation that embraces the historic nature of the north campus and opens to celebrate the vision of the NAU of the future.

The cornerstone of the program is the “World News Center”. It serves as the vessel to “explore the edge and future direction of the new media world.” The 95,000 sf of renovation/new construction includes program features such as multi-media capable seminar and classrooms, lab facilities, a resource/reading library and administrative and faculty offices.
