RNL is providing interior design services for a 375 room resort hotel/conference center with 10 restaurants, 80,000 sf of conference/meeting space, cinema, bowling alley, and 32,000 sf spa. We are currently in the concept design phase of the project.
An Arabic/Oriental theme will be utilized throughout the public spaces including the main lobby, public corridors, and associated adjacencies. An overall balance of simple, clean, and candid design will be coupled with the use of native materials indicative of the regional heritage.
The lobby will feature honed natural stone flooring with mosaic insets. The walls will feature the same stone with a 75% cleft to complement color while maintaining a different texture and physical touch. The front desk will be centrally located and flanked by grand staircases. Above the front desk and above the east and west colonnade will be a mezzanine that will create an intricate reflection and viewing area. The tonal quality will be light colored stone with warm architectural details, wood doors, ceiling beams, light opaque Arabic motif screens, hand blown glass panels, and rich accents of color and furniture.
The Arabic/Oriental theme will continue throughout the guest room experience. The bathrooms will feature five or six fixtures with a fully enclosed lavatory area. Elaborate floor to ceiling tile will be utilized throughout, creating a whimsical and extremely tranquil environment. The main area will depict a sense of comfort and simplicity. Wood flooring will be utilized throughout married with area rugs, comfortable furnishing, and soothing lighting schemes.
