As the architect and master planner for this project, RNL looked for cultural or physical symbols within the region or area. We learned that from an environmental and cultural perspective, the Maldivians have been referred to as the “Children of the Sea”, known to have tamed the sea and harvested from its bounty. This became the most important aspect of the Maldivian way of life and culture. Maldivians for centuries have been organized into fishing communities dependent on the harvesting of fish and sea life. This cultural aspect of the Maldives is symbolized by the sailing Dhoni.

These guest rooms are all somewhat unique and provide an outstanding guest facility where privacy, luxury, and gracious amenities are an integral part of the guest experience. We developed several guest villas for the project. The villas are referred as “Dhihares” Villas or Beach Villas, “Fene” Villas or Over Water Villas, and “Mai” Villas or V.I.P Villas.
