The Sky Harbor Sky Train Maintenance & Storage Facility is the main support facility for the new Sky Harbor Sky Train Automated People Mover. The 34,000-sq-ft facility includes maintenance bays for heavy and light maintenance, parts and equipment storage, train operations central control, administration and shop areas, and support spaces. Sustainable design features were incorporated to reduce capital and operating costs, provide significant health and productivity gains and conserve natural resources. Clerestory windows and large skylights provide ample daylighting to the high- bay space. Building systems were integrated to optimize energy efficiency while material selections favored local products.
