The Lamar Street TOD district is an urban infill site in the older eastern section of Lakewood. Centered on Colfax Avenue, the district will build on the existing Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design (RMCAD) and the development opportunity of a district of industrial buildings, surrounded by a small scale urban residential neighborhood. RNL worked with the community to develop a concept for an arts district, with ties to the light rail station through the industrial building area which is envisioned to transition over time to an art center where galleries, workshops, studios, restaurants, live-work housing and related uses will create a walkable urban arts district.
